If you follow me at all, you know for a fact that “sauces” have a big place in my recipes! How else am I going to change the taste of the same foods I eat every day? Since I have started making Crunchy Chicken Tenders I have been dreaming of one of my favorite sauces out there. Chick-fil-a dipping sauce!! I describe it as “honey mustard sauce + creamy bbq sauce = Copycat Chick-fil-a Sauce”!
Once I started my healthier lifestyle journey, I crossed fast-food joints off of my list of places to go. So I forgot about that heavenly sauce for a while. But one Saturday while out shopping we passed a Chick-fil-a and it dawned on me that I would need to re-make that sauce!
What ingredients are going into Copycat Chick-fil-a Sauce?
I am a mayonnaise fan no doubt. I just can’t use white dairy day after day because of allergies. And for this recipe mayonnaise is a must, yogurt would throw the taste off completely. I use Veganaise because of an egg allergy but any approved mayonnaise will work. I have some information about condiments HERE.
The rest of the ingredients are just simple staples I have on hand all the time. You can use any approved BBQ sauce or homemade sauce. This is a great homemade BBQ sauce recipe HERE. Again if you use this link about condiments you can find an approved store-bought sauce. The liquid smoke is VERY important so don’t skip this ingredient! To be honest, this is one of those recipes where you can’t play with it too much or it just won’t taste the same…
I try to make it early in the day or even the day before to let the flavors meld together.

Notes
I tested this recipe multiple times and so I tried serving it in multiple ways! Toasted whole wheat hot dog bun, crispy chicken tenders, and sauce were AWESOME! I ended up putting all the sauce on my sandwich and used ketchup for my fries. French fry recipe worth the prep can be found HERE.
Because of the sweetness of the sauce, I tried it with roasted butternut squash and it was PERFECT.
